EXPECTED PROFIT OF RUSSIAN HOTELS DURING FIFA WORLD CUP 2018

The World Cup will take place in 11 Russian cities and is set to start on June, 14th and end on July, 15th 2018. Some Russian hotels have been black-listed due to overpricing, charging much more than standard price per room. These hotels are located in the following cities: Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Kaliningrad and Krasnodar. The highest increase for the room price has reached more than 5000%.

Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) has launched a hotline for costumers to complain about rises in prices during the World Cup in accordance with the government’s regulation of room prices that was introduced in 2016 year.

Representatives of large international hotel chains claim that it is impossible to book a room for one night on the dates of the 2018 World Cup, but insist that there is nothing unusual about this fact.
