Workshop SELL CROATIA-2019 in Moscow

The National Tourist Office of the Republic of Croatia in Russia on February 5, 2019 in Moscow held an annual professional meeting at the Marriott Moscow Royal Aurora hotel devoted to a new coming tourist season. The event consisted of a press conference and B2B-workshop SELL CROATIA-2019 which was attended by host companies, hotels, yachting companies, airlines and regional tourist offices.

A meeting with journalists was opened by a new Ambassador of Croatia in Russia – Mr. Tomislav Car. While talking about Croatia he noted that along with the beautiful nature one of the most important attractive features of leisure in Croatia is its absolute security. That is why National Geographic magazine has been putting Croatia in the top 5 best destinations for family holidays in the world for three years in a row.

The head of the Consular department of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in the Russian Federation, Mr. Siniša Ivanec reported that starting from 2019 year Russian tour operators can be accredited for three years by the embassy of the Republic of Croatia instead of one year and now all documents for accreditation can be submitted throughout the year.

According to the provided information in 2017 year 22 thousand Croatian national visas have been issued to Russians and in 2018 year – 18 thousand. In total, as the Director of the Representative office of Croatian tourist Board in Russia, Rajko Ruzička reported that 135.3 thousand Russian tourists visited Croatia last year which is 2% more than in 2017 year. According to forecasts of the Croatian tourist office the Russian tourist flow might grow by at least 10%.

In addition to beach recreation tours and sightseeing tours Croatia is actively developing yachting tourism and medical tourism. According to Mr. Ruzička the country has excellent conditions for this type of tourism – 1,777 km of the cleanest sea coast, 1,244 islands, 62 sea harbors and 17,000 equipped marinas for yachts.
