“Head coach of the Croatian national football team Zlatko Dalic has toughly appealed to politicians”: fake news of the day

Just few expected that the Croatian national team at the World Cup-2018 will reach the final, nevertheless they eventually lost to France. The head coach of the national team Zlatko Dalic appealed to the politicians of his country and did it rather harshly, urging not to use the successes of the football players to improve the image of politicians.

Croatian team took first place in the group in the World Cup 2018, simultaneously defeating the national team of Argentina, and in the playoffs of the tournament the team showed itself a very stable squad: all three matches – 1/8 finals, quarterfinals and semi-finals – reached the penalty shootout or extra time. After beating Denmark, Russia and England, the Croats reached the final, where they lost to France and took second place at FIFA World Football Cup.

Zlatko Dalic who led the Croats to this success, at the same time turned to the politicians of his country and did it in a tough form.

“This generation of football players has shown that the team can succeed regardless of the country, I write this because of the current difficult situation in Croatia. Now Croatia is the poorest country in the European Union, and it is run by people who are related to crime. I appeal to politicians and government officials who have made people suffer, please respect our decision, do not wear national team shirts, and do not use our success in order to improve your image”, quotes “Championship” the “utterance of Dalic”.

The head coach of Croatia at the same time listed a number of problems of the country, such as corruption, poor people’s financial situation and chaos in various systems, such as health care.

Update: Dalic’s appeal published on the page of “Hrvatska nogometna reprezentacija”, which was quoted by Russian sports media, turned out to be a fake.
