Positive moves in economical coopearation between Croatia and Russia

Partnership with Russian Federation is of strategic interest for Republic of Croatia, and to better communication contributes  Business Council of Croatian Chamber of Economy since it is possible to get better organization and connection of economical sector, bodies of public administration and different others. The aim of Business council is also offering co-ordinated support to all institutions and organizations in Republic of Croatia involved in this process.

Business council supports regional and selective access to cooperation with Russia, going to regions offers good opportunities, and for that there are already positive examples, connected to energy, pharmaceutical industry, telecommunication, tourism. On initiative of Croatian Chamber of Economy office in Moscow, meeting with one of the leading Russian distributor of pharmaceutical products with  Croatian suppliers. As a part of Business council it will be considered the question of changing visa regime, as well as the question of ownership and property of Russian citizens in Republic of Croatia.

Russia is for Croatia, traditionally important trading partner and it rose, thanks to increased export on Russian market, from 11th in year 2011 to 7^th place of export partners to Croatia. In import it held 3^rd place of trading partners. Last year merchandise exchange between two countries was 2 milliard USD and it was increased for 3 %. Export was bigger for 41 % and it was in amount of 400 million USD, and import was decreased for 4 % and it was bigger than 1,5 milliard USD. The deficit of mutual trade balance sheet was decreased. Croatia exports on Russian market mostly drugs, cosmetics, machines and equipment, food products, and it imports energy and  raw materials. Some export products are farm machinery and tobacco and seasonal export of tangerine.

In economic relations among Croatia and Russia significant moves were made. From the big interest is investment of Russian biggest company Gazprom to Croatia, as well as opening of Sberbank in Croatia. Mentioned investments give positive signal to other investors. With the presence of Russian companies on Croatian market, Russia is important source of investing capital, and special attention is drawn to removing the barriers for future investments. In Croatian Chamber of Economy they remind on good affirmation of Croatian pharmaceutical  industry on Russian market, export of machines and equipment in Russia, and chances are for Croatia food industry as well specially healthy food production, what is important for tourist offer. Last year was one of the best export years of Croatia to Russia, and, it was , according to preliminary information, made export in amount of 420 million USD.

In Moscow, it was planned to be held 7^th session of Croatian-Russian intergovernmental commission for trade-economy and scientific andtechnical cooperation on 27^th and 28^th May, where economy representatives are provided. Croatian Chamber of Economy office in Moscow is directed to regions, such as cooperation with Russian counties Jaroslavska, Kaluga and so on. Also, taking part on fairs Car mechanic from 26^th to 29^th August and Fair of shipbuilding from 24^th to 27^th September is planned.
