Masterpieces of Hermitage are presented in the middle of April in Zagreb
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the parnership of St. Peterburg and Zagreb cities The Gallery Klovićevi Dvori hosts a large exhibition of one of the world’s largest museums – the Hermitage Museum of St. Petersburg. The exhibition lasts from April, 12 to July 29, 2018.
The exhibition is devoted to the reign of one of the most powerful women in history, Catherine II. (1729-1796). It provides a cross-section through this unique period of Russian history, depicting the chariots of personal subjects, objects of everyday life and artwork that she collected passionately and thus established one of the largest and the most important collections of the world. The exhibition presents the Hermitage and St. Peterburg city of that era (the context of the exhibition – Russia and Europe at Catherine’s time).
More than 1,000 exhibits are presented so the visitors will be able to find out more about Catherine’s life and especially to feel Catherine’s charm of art that led to the purchase of many collections and the foundation of the Hermitage.
