140 new hostels were approved to operate during the FIFA 2018 World Cup
According to the OneTwoTrip service, 140 new hostels have been added to online booking systems over the past four months. Most hostels appeared in Moscow – 60 hostels, second place is St. Petersburg – 27 hostels, third place – Kazan (11 new hostels).
“Such dynamics, of course, is connected with the upcoming Football World Cup. Hostels are one of the simplest segments of the hospitality market, so there are a lot of desirous willing to try themselves in this sphere. Hotels are opened in advance in order to operate and accumulate feedback, as fans will pay attention to reviews while chosing a hostel. At the same time, new hostels are likely to continue to appear in the cities in remaining months before the championship,” – says Arkady Gines, Director of OneTwoTrip Service Development.
It is worth noting that in the last four months new hostels have appeared in online booking systems in all eleven cities that will host the World Cup matches this summer. At the moment, there are more than 1,000 accommodation units of this type. Thus, only over the past four months this market has grown by 16% volume of supply on the Internet.
