Croatian Prime Minister Milanovic in Kazahstan: we want to upgrade cooperation with Kazahstan
Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov said that at today’s meeting they talked about bilateral relations and possibilities of economic cooperation.
Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic on an official visit in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is led by the Croatian economic delegation consisting of representatives of Croatian companies and entrepreneurs in the field of industry, especially food and the defense industry, architecture, medicine, information technology and telecommunications, shipbuilding and tourism.
First he held a meeting with Kazakh Prime Minister, after which they held bilateral meetings of delegations. “I am keen to be in Kazakhstan, a successful country which, 20 years ago, was disadvantaged, and whose results today are impressive. Croatian economic delegation, made up of many entrepreneurs who expressed great interest in doing business with Kazakhstan, is with us”, said Milanovic. The prime minister said he was confident that their visit will result in contracts and agreements.
Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov invited Croatian companies to take part in the development of Kazakhstan. He added that today’s economic forum will be an opportunity for the two countries to get acquainted even better. Milanovic also met the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, and during the day they will take part in Kazakh-Croatian business forum.
Milanovic was also accompanied by Defense Minister Ante Kotromanovic, who met with his Kazakh counterpart, Defense Minister Imangali Tasmagambetov. Session was focused on the Bilateral Military Cooperation, especially the military industry, the regional security situation and cooperation in the framework of NATO. “Croatia and Kazakhstan have a common interest- to improve relations and to intensify cooperation in all fields, from defense industry, training and education, to the economic cooperation. In the last couple of years, Kazakhstan has attracted an impressive foreign investments and become economically powerful. One of the reasons for that is their openness for international business and investment. They also showed that they are interested in Croatian military industry and I hope that our companies will find their opportunity here, and realize new businesses”, said the Minister Kotromanovic.
