Wizz Air Ukraine starts third base at Lviv International Airport


Wizz Air Ukraine will use its fifth Airbus A320, for flights at the beginning of next year, in order to open third base in country, at Lviv International Airport. Low-cost transporters will put in traffic 180 plane seats on west Ukraine airport from 30th April 2014 by introducing additional 12 flights a week via five new routes.

Plane had its debut in Lviv in September 2008, when first introduced  domestic connections from Kiev and Simferopol. From 2009 are focused on international services and currently has connections from Bergam, Dortmund and Treviso. Now they will add connections for Girona Barcelona, Napoli, Rome, Valencia and Georgian city Kutaisi, the last one after the Supervisory Board approval.Barcelona Girona, Napoli and Valencia routes will be possible twice a week, while for Kutaisi and Rome three flights a week.

According to transporter, this expansion presents investments in the amount of around 80 million dollars and the growth of capacity in airport on more than 300 000 places in 2014.

Wizz Air Ukraine was established with the aim of starting domestic business in Ukraine in July 2008, and currently has its main base in Kiev’s airport Zhuliany International Airport, from where it connects on spread net of domestic and international destinations. Transporter confirms that they will introduce one new Airbus A320 ahead of Route CIS in Donjeck on Sergey Prokofiev International Airport from October 2013, to strengthen existing Kutaisi route up to five times a week, and introduce three times a week connection for Bergamo and twice a week flights to London Luton, Memmingen and Rome Fiumicina.
