27 hotels to be put in operation in Moscow in 2018
27 hotels are scheduled to be put into operation in the Russian capital city in 2018, The Moscow Committee for Construction Investment Projects and Co-Funding Construction said on Friday.
According to the announcement, more than half of this amount will be completed by the fourth quarter of the next year.
“The total area of the room supply, which will emerge in the capital next year, will amount to 500,000 square meters, the bulk of input will account for the fourth quarter, when 14 hotels will be put in operation”, the Committee’s Chairman Konstantin Timofeev said.
He noted that at present, construction and installation work was being carried out at 15 sites scheduled to be commissioned next year. The construction of other hotels is at the stage of registration or adjustment of permitting and project documentation.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that this year in Moscow is planned to put into operation 11 hotels of various categories. According to him, the city built 42 hotels, most of them are classified in categories of 3 and 4 stars.
Currently, the capital has more than 1 thousand accommodation facilities with a total fund of 63 thousand rooms. All objects passed mandatory classification before the World Cup 2018.
